Industry Observation
Today’s signal is “wider channels, deeper connectivity and fixed content dates”. ATM 2026 brings the Maldives’ largest international travel-trade delegation of the year, so competition within the Middle East market will also become more direct. Exhibitors should record winter gateways, family composition, dining preferences and payment conditions by buyer type, then follow up with saleable room categories and complete prices.
The daily Malé–Kudahuvadhoo service extends Maldivian’s domestic network to an 18th airport and may support Dhaalu Atoll residents, supply chains and tourism transfers. Daily service does not mean every international arrival connects seamlessly: quotations still need actual times, minimum connection buffers, baggage rules, onward ground or marine transport, and disruption alternatives.
At resort level, year-end festivities, September anniversary activities, wellness weekends, limited wine dinners and marine education are appearing together. Dated content answers “why travel now”, but relies on reservations, age limits, meal-plan rules, sea conditions and cancellation terms. Before selling an event, confirm that the stay actually overlaps it and whether the hotel includes it in the rate.

The national forecast is valid from 10:00 on 15 September to 10:00 on 16 September Maldives time: scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms, west to northwesterly winds at 13–23 mph, gusting to 40 mph in showers, rough seas and waves of 4–7 feet. Northern and central marine forecasts also give 4–7 feet; the central-southern region gives 3–6 feet, moderate becoming rough in showers.

1. Maldives brings 165 representatives from 74 companies to ATM 2026
Visit Maldives Corporation said on 14 September that the destination is attending Arabian Travel Market 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre from 14 to 17 September. The 165 delegates from 74 tourism companies form its largest international travel-trade delegation of 2026. The Ministry, the Embassy in the UAE and a 517.5-square-metre double-decker stand support B2B meetings and product presentation.

2. Maldivian starts daily Kudahuvadhoo service on 17 September
Island Aviation opened sales on 13 September for daily Malé–Kudahuvadhoo flights beginning 17 September, with promotional fares from MVR 1,111. Kudahuvadhoo becomes Maldivian’s 18th domestic airport. The airline reports a 25-aircraft fleet: one A330, one A320, five ATRs, seven Dash 8s and 11 Twin Otters.

3. Ozen Life Maadhoo schedules volcanic-wine residency for 24–26 November
Ozen Life Maadhoo announced the return of Bodegas Viñátigo from 24 to 26 November, spanning underwater restaurant M6m, TRADITION PEKING and HUDHU BAY Beach Club. The wines also feature year-round in the island’s INDULGENCE plan, while capacity, menus and exact residency inclusions remain subject to resort confirmation.
Dolphin view: The three nights have different venues and cannot be sold as an undated blanket benefit. Confirm overlap, supplement, age rules, seats, cancellation and alcohol policies.
4. St Regis sets a three-day wellness weekend for 18–20 September
St Regis announced on 15 September that World Wellness Weekend 2026 will run from 18 to 20 September, using nature-led restoration, mindful living, holistic wellbeing and social connection across a three-day programme. It is a dated programme, not a universal inclusion in every room rate.
Dolphin view: Prioritise guests already staying across the three dates, then confirm sessions, fees, capacity, age or health restrictions, and indoor alternatives for weather-sensitive activities.
5. Baros fixes its festive season from 22 December to 7 January
Baros announced a 22 December 2026–7 January 2027 programme built around nature, Maldivian culture, dining and marine experiences. It includes a tree-lighting ceremony, cookie workshop, Ocean, Coconut & Spice cooking class, heritage evening, island Christmas market and ocean activities.
Dolphin view: Position it for guests who value culture and the ocean, while itemising gala supplements, inclusions, speedboat, cancellation terms and weather rules rather than implying unlimited free access.
6. Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives hosts a two-day school biodiversity visit
Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives hosted Huraa School on 1–2 September for marine biodiversity field learning. Each day involved 40 students, five teachers and three parents. It was a community environmental-education activity, not an automatically bookable guest excursion.

7. Kuramathi festive calendar runs from 21 December to New Year’s Day

8. Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru links coral, dining and wellness on 22–26 September
Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru plans coral micro-fragment planting on 22 September; a guided Save The Reef snorkel, a new coral-tree pilot at about seven metres, green mixology and beach football on 23 September; and full-moon meditation on 26 September. The coral-tree method will be monitored alongside existing restoration techniques.

9. Finolhu Maldives stages two distinct Sato wine dinners
Finolhu Maldives will hold Sato Wine Dinners on 23 September at overwater Japanese restaurant Kanusan and on 27 September at Crab Shack at the end of the sandbank. Resort chefs will pair dedicated menus with Central Otago wines in two deliberately different settings.

10. Meyyafushi festive season spans 22 December to 6 January
Meyyafushi announced an island-wide programme from 22 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, covering snorkelling, yoga, overwater padel, cooking, palm-leaf crafts, gala dinners, tastings, lobster dinners, live music, children’s hunts and a New Year countdown, alongside underwater dining, sound healing and spa experiences.
